Volkswagen unveils its product lineup for 2025, with seven new models slated to hit the market
The 2025 Volkswagen product lineup has been officially announced by the German manufacturer. Spanning across gasoline, plug-in hybrid, and electric powertrains, a total of seven new vehicles will be launched next year.
Among these newcomer models are three oil-electric hybrid variants built on the SPA1 platform, two all-electric variants based on the SPA2 platform, one all-electric model built on the SEA platform and a single plug-in hybrid SUV variant. Notably, the upcoming ES90 is expected to be an electric version of Volkswagen's mid-size sedan, boasting both rear-wheel drive with a single motor and a four-wheel drive system with two motors.
A separate product roadmap suggests that among these seven models, Volkswagen will unveil not just one but two models at once, competing directly in the segment of mid-size sedans like ES90 and S90. Additionally, for the electric SUV category, we can expect XC60-similar model to be available. On top of this all-wheel drive vehicle, a direct competitor is also expected by next year, according to the Volkswagen roadmap.
Accordingly, Volkswagen confirmed an extended focus on two main lines: hybrid-electric vehicles and all-electric cars with an ongoing expansion of models that feature these alternative propulsion drives into every upcoming model series.
