GAC TOYOTA Launches New Models at the Year's Latest China Motor Show

A multitude of new models have been unveiled at the latest China Motor Show. Among them, there are five all-new cars: a Prologue sedan to be produced, and two full-size SUVs, as well as the mass-market version of M8.

According to the reports, GAC will release this sedan to compete in the A30 segment market by offering an affordable price start at 3 million RMB. In addition, there is more news about M8: it can be equipped with laser radar and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS); S9 is going to offer a higher variant of S7 in terms of size.

The Prologue

At present, the Prologue sedan has appeared before this time so that they got a full-scale introduction. At this launch ceremony at the China Motor Show, this vehicle came with the same design as before. In fact, it can be seen on show that its length is 5128mm, its width is more than 2 meters, and its overall dimensions fit well in both A6 segment market and A70 segment market.

In terms of technology, this new car will adopt the Huawei Intelligent Car solution, including a new-generation Hi-mont Cabin and Huawei Quantum Drive Assist 3.0. In addition, it is reported that this vehicle can be equipped with the GAC Supercharged engine system.

Prologue sedan

The Prologue sedan is a full-size luxury sedan. With its name as a hint, it can refer to the Chinese phrase for "go forward". In fact, there are many rumors about this car when it came to performance upgrade.

However, we just know its engine now. According to the information, the vehicle's maximum power will be 200kW in the form of a high-output hybrid system.

Toyota M8

The M8 is designed as a luxury version of A4 sedan and also as an MPV version with long wheelbase to accommodate large families or groups of friends. In terms of features, at least two levels of driving assistance systems are added: laser radar and high-level AI assistant. This will be applied to the full-size version which has been introduced before.

Toyota S9

The full-size version S9 can be seen with the same layout as the S7 model because GAC is using this name as a strategy for positioning. The latest Toyota brand car in China market is positioned on top of all previous models and in theory it could even surpass Toyota Camry's size. Its overall length reaches up to 5,217mm.

In terms of performance, there are the following four different drive modes: urban mode, normal driving mode, sporty mode and energy-saving or silent cruise mode for quieter travel.
