Geely's Ambitious Plans for 2025: Aiming to Challenge Markets with New Technologies and Expansion Strategies
According to a recent statement from Geely Automobile Group, the company has set its sights on achieving 200 million unit sales in 2025, with Geely Silver Park aiming to challenge the 100 million unit sales target of that year. With significant investments made in new technologies, including acquisitions such as Lynk & Co and Radar, Geely has expanded its brand portfolio to cover SUV, MPV, off-road, and pick-up vehicles.
Apart from technological advancements, Geely is also gearing up for a series of product launches, starting with the introduction of Flyme Auto 2.0 vehicle computer system in the second half of next year. This upgrade promises improved interaction experience and enhanced ecological applications. Furthermore, the company has publicly unveiled its brand lineup for next year, which includes the launch of several key models.
In terms of specific product plans, Geely will introduce two new gasoline-powered vehicles; Geely Silver Park will roll out five new electric model versions, including two SUVs and three sedans. The e-SUV vehicles from the Geely EM ultra-hybrid platform are scheduled to debut later this year.
As for its global presence, Geely Automobile Group has expressed its commitment to expanding its overseas market share, aiming to grow by 15.6% compared to last year. This includes the addition of up to 300 new sales and service outlets worldwide, as well as reaching 1,100 outlets across all channels, with plans for localised manufacture in countries such as Indonesia, Vietnam, Central Asia, and Africa.
Recent data released by Geely Group shows that it exceeded expectations for total sales in 2024, achieving 21,676,567 units - up 32% year-over-year, which contributed to surpassing its annual target of 200 million units. The group added that December saw 210055 cars for the domestic market only sold at the same year period.
Notably, Geely also announced in its latest performance statement the following targets:
- Annual sales goal: 271 million vehicles by end of 2025
- Electric vehicle sales target: 150 million units by end of 2025
