BYD Announces Widespread Adoption of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems Across Its Entire Model Line
In a recent strategic unveiling, BYD announced that its entire model line would feature the "Shen Ye" advanced driver assistance system. The rollout is expected to cover price segments spanning 70,000 to 200,000 Chinese yuan.
BYD expressed its gratitude for being welcomed into the ranks of "Smart Drive Achievers," emphasizing the need for industry cooperation in expanding accessible autonomous driving technology. As more automotive brands join this campaign, BYD sees a potential accelerated timeline of mass adoption for full-fledged mass-market autonomous driving.
Byd Brand Positioning and Tech Strategy
The Byd brand is poised as a "smart car pioneer." Founded on the principles of technological equality, Byd continuously strives to provide users with diverse advanced driver assistance scenarios and applications. In September 2022, the Byd KiWi EV Big Daxiang model became the world’s first mass-produced vehicle to be priced under 10,000 yuan, equipped with remote vehicle parking features; in May 2023, the Byd Joye model launched with parking features starting at 8,000 yuan. In September 2023, Byd’s Wu Du Linshe model was released, being the world's first mass-produced production car to be equipped with high-speed driving assistance functions. Furthermore, the later models of this year saw Byd successfully commercializing advanced autonomous drive capability for its fleet vehicles, starting from 10,000 yuan level.
Recently, two key technologies by Byd achieved significant advancements: a city navigation system integrating real-time positioning and remote calling abilities; additionally, high-fast driver assistance capabilities were introduced to mass-market models from various price segments. Furthermore, the latter half of this year witnessed BYD releasing its cloud service model for all their new products across their entire product range.
Byd’s Luxurious Flagship Model: The Byd Shen Ye
At press meet, Byd presented the luxury flagship model titled “Shen Ye”. Shen Ye is equipped with the latest smart driver assistance system -Byd’s Luxurious Driver Assistance System or Smart Eye 3.0. Byd announced at this press release that its Luxurious Driving Assistance System is incorporated in Byd's latest luxurious Flagship vehicle: The Byd Tang. According to Byd officials, Shen Ye possesses cutting-edge technologies designed for users to enjoy better safety and convenience on roads.
The flagship vehicle boasts all advanced smart driving capabilities including the intelligent city parking feature, remote driving services, GPS-based personal journey route planning with seamless real-time tracking; with a comprehensive array of intelligent driving assistance features.
