Date: March 26, 2023

Shanghai, China - Guangqi Honda held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new energy factory and the launch of its latest electric vehicle, the P7. The factory's commencement marks a significant milestone in Guangqi Honda's journey towards electrification and intelligence.

The new energy factory, with a production capacity of 120,000 units per year, is equipped with cutting-edge technology and achieves "green production" without emissions. At the forefront of today's launch is the P7, a mid-size pure electric SUV built on an all-new Honda e-SPR intelligent pure-electric platform. The vehicle is available in both single-motor and dual-motor variants, with a maximum range of 650 kilometers.

Beyond the P7, Guangqi Honda has announced plans to release two new models - one suspected to be a sedan and another possibly an MPV, both expected to be pure electric vehicles.

Exterior Design

The P7 boasts a double LED headlight arrangement, exuding a forward-looking design. A large grille dominates the front section, accompanied by ample blackout styling in the lower area, generating an impressive aerodynamic effect. Honda's new logo, with its flatted and streamlined appearance, makes a more modern statement.

Dimensions:

  • Length: 4,750 mm
  • Width: 1,930 mm
  • Height: 1,625 mm
  • Wheelbase: 2,930 mm

The exterior design largely retains similarities to previously released models, notably the Dongfeng Honda S7, with the addition of HEV black ABC pillars and a more refined overall look. The car is available in five stylish color options, paired with either 19 or 21-inch wheels.

Interior Design

Inside, Guangqi Honda P7 features an exceptionally clean, modern aesthetic that blends into the contemporary world. Key highlights include:

  • An enlarged, state-of-the-art 12.8-inch infotainment screen
  • A smaller yet functional 10.25-inch climate control display
  • The inclusion of Honda CONNECT 4.0 for seamless multi-language voice interaction and AI-based language recognition
  • Integration with popular smartphone brands through CarPlay/HiCar/HALife interfaces, providing users an intuitive experience
  • Accessories like the HUD floating screen on the windshield to better immerse drivers in the driving atmosphere
  • An upgraded video rear-view cam system as well

Smart Driving Features

The vehicle is equipped with the Honda SENSING 360+ smart driving system that includes super-fast navigation assistance and intelligent parking support.

Seating Capacity and Safety Features

P7 features a five-seat configuration with all-row comfort seating, including an optional feature for lateral support. Additionally, it comes equipped with additional safety features such as 13 airbags and adjustable seats with advanced dynamic movement capabilities.

Performance and Technology

The P7 comes in two versions: single-electric motor and dual-motor variants. Notably, the dual version boasts a front/rear electric motor output of 150kW/200kW each for quick and potent acceleration at speeds reaching top speed of 185km/h.

Guangqi Honda has also announced use of significant high-energy-density lithium battery technology in production vehicles to increase performance power-to-weight ratios and optimize environmental impact.
