Mercedes-Benz has released a series of exclusive images of its upcoming all-electric version of the Cla, featuring the AMG high-performance model CLA 45. The new electric variant is set to become more agile on the road with features tailored for performance, including advanced aerodynamics.
Spy Shots and Design Expectations
The newly confirmed Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 has been extensively covered in extensive camo, effectively shielding its distinctive lines from public view, which means a comprehensive look would only be available once more production-oriented designs get underway. This suggests it's equipped with several high-performance components more advanced than its conventional version. Rear end views reveal advanced aerodynamics consisting of the Active Air Control system, and an advanced multi-stage fluid damping plate. The exact features yet to come clear from this teaser will help drive on-road performance further.
Engine Performance
With expected output over 500 horsepower per three-rotor electric powertrain, this upcoming AMG variant might be available with more than enough drive for daily commute driving - a real challenge given the already impressive dynamic behavior the vehicle is able to give. Mercedes-Benz's engineers could also offer an additional "V8" mode of operation with digital simulated engine roars reminiscent of V8 engines in classic AMG models.
For improved efficiency, Mercedes will be fitting a cutting-edge new battery for electric drive vehicles developed at internal facilities using unique cylindrical cells designed with substantial energy power density. The newly announced eATS 2.0, as shown above the full-size picture below, provides advanced electric motors offering up to one-third lighter and smaller than before.
