GAC Guangzhou Motor Unveils Mysterious New SUV Photos
A series of leaked images from a trusted source has provided the first glimpse at GAC Guangzhou Motor's all-new plug-in hybrid electric (PHEV) SUV. Although set to replace the Binyue L6, these photos suggest that this new vehicle could be an evolution of the Starhawk 7 EM-i model.
The exterior design, still in its testing phase, retains some features from both the Starhawk 7 EM-i and Binyue E5. The front fascia still lacks production-ready headlights, but a possible central grille is rumored to feature a creased design with active elements for adaptive headlamps. Additionally, vertical side-mirrors replace traditional ones, showcasing an innovative integration at the rear, along with horizontal stabilizers that support three-point-style taillights.
In contrast, the side profile mirrors the Binyue L6 and Starhawk 7 EM-i more closely, while still presenting interesting surprises. Rear door handles have noticeable indentations suggesting a possible concealed function; though too small to confirm a standard mechanism or a secret compartment, they invite curiosity nonetheless.
The dashboard features resemble the Binyue E5 even more closely than other elements previously thought familiar with Binyue L6's silhouette. Central console touchscreens show both Starhawk 7 EM-i-like touches and similarities with Binyue E5 for better familiarity. Moreover, there are two seats ahead of passengers, featuring genuine leathers wrapped in supple design.
In terms of powertrain, this vehicle is expected to come equipped with the latest EM-i hybrid system developed by GAC Guangzhou Motor. Its engine, paired with an 218-horsepower motor and a seven-speed clutch transmission, suggests efficient energy output, possibly comparable or surpassing that of its Starhawk counterpart.
