Huawei To Launch Pura and Mongomong Car Lines, 8 Series SUV Now Available for Pre-Sale

Shenzhen, China - March 20, 2023

At the Huawei Pura Series and Mongomong New Product Launch Event held earlier today, Huawei's executive vice chairman, president of terminal business group, and director general of automotive solutions business unit, Ruo Cheng Dong, revealed that the Huawei i8 series SUV, Huawei i6 series SUV, and other car models will arrive soon.

The i8 series SUV is positioned as a large-sized upgrade SUV with dimensions of 5190x1999x1795mm and an axle length of 3105mm, while it is about 40mm longer and 10mm shorter than the i6 series SUV (Huawei i7).

The two models will come in either 5-seat or 6-seat configuration. Both cars boast a hybrid-electric powertrain with combined CLTC pure-electric range higher than their competitors.

In terms of technology, they will feature an advanced in-car dual-screen screen configuration and Huawei's high-end smart driving system.

It is worth mentioning that the two models come out one month before the Q2 release and set new standards for consumers. The official statement states that after a period of testing, there were 160k,000 potential incidents avoided, with a total delivery reach of over 7 million units.

As of March 19th 2025, the Mongomong flagship automotive division had sold 68 million vehicles. With its numerous technological innovations, Huawei is gradually moving towards achieving its goal to become a leading automobile brand.
