Tesla's Cybertruck Gets a Futuristic 'Sneak Peek' – Exclusive Trademark Application Revealed

Tesla Expands Reach to China with Latest Patent Application for "Cyber" Brand

A recent patent application by the Chinese trademark office reveals that Tesla has submitted a "Cyber" brand for several vehicle classifications, including electric cars and light trucks. This move could signal an impending introduction of its highly-anticipated Cybertruck in the domestic market.

In December last year, Tesla's Cybertruck was reportedly listed on China's energy consumption database, where it claimed to offer a single variant with a range of 618 kilometers under favorable conditions. The specifications mentioned included dual electric motors producing 206kW and 222kW of power per wheel, consuming an estimated 22.6 kWh/100km of electricity, and a total weight of 3,104 kilograms.

However, it's noted that introducing the Cybertruck to China is facing significant challenges, including modifying the vehicle to meet domestic safety standards for pedestrian collisions. The traditional stainless steel used in its frontal and body armor poses difficulties when aiming to pass stringent regulations requiring certain vehicle features for improved protection against accidental collisions with pedestrians.

This suggests that while efforts are being made by Tesla to bring its Cybertruck to China, further modifications may be necessary to conform to local regulations before the vehicle's official launch.
