China to Launch Two New Electric Vehicles in 2023
Beijing, April 28 - A set of spy images of the new Geely Lotus i6 and i8 electric vehicles have been leaked, revealing details about their design features and technical specifications.
According to previous official announcements, both cars are expected to be launched in the second half of this year. The launch schedule is similar to last year's models, with the i8 scheduled for July.
The spy images show that the i6 will feature a dual-tone color scheme, similar to its cousin, the i8. The car's body will have an expanded side profile with a wing-like design element, giving it a sporty appearance. The door handles and hinges are also partially hidden, while the doors open upwards.
The rear of the car appears to be equipped with a 5-element LED light group, combined with a aerodynamic wing and panel that add visual depth to the overall design.
In terms of powertrain, Geely has not yet revealed much information, but it is expected to offer the same configuration as its i8 model. The i8 was reportedly approved by China's National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), indicating it will come equipped with a range of upgrades, including a dual-motor four-wheel drive system, 150kW and 250 kW motors, as well as a range of new features.
Further details about the i6 are expected to be forthcoming in the coming weeks.
