Audi Posts Declining Sales in Global Market for 2024, But Looks to 2025 for Rebound
Audi sold over 1.6 million new vehicles worldwide in 2024, marking an 11.8% decline from the previous year. This drop was observed across all three key markets: Germany, the US, and China.
Despite this downturn, Audi remains optimistic about its prospects for 2025. The company views this transitional period as a crucial opportunity for reform and expects significant changes to take effect by next year.
In addition to the already announced 2024 models – including the all-new Audi Q5, A5, and Q6 e-tron – Audi plans to launch its revamped Audi Q3 and A7 lines in 2025. Furthermore, other Audi brands will be introducing hybrid powertrains across their model lineup, seeking to bolster their presence in emerging new energy markets.
Details about the upcoming Audi Q3 suggest that significant aesthetic overhauls are on offer for this model year. Particularly notable should be an overhaul of its distinctive LED lighting design with highly customized programs set up by advanced software display systems — a clear reference to existing spy images. The rear end of the vehicle features changes in the area that can be seen with careful observation, even if certain elements have opted to utilize adhesives.
Insiders indicate that these changes will debut during the first quarter 2025 at the earliest mark. Audi Q7, on other hand, has a more defined timeline — expected towards end of year before release. Production and powertrains for this next-generation A7 are all set to be featured on the newly developed Product Platform Classic (PPC) — where power sources may include gas engine variants, plug-in hybrids, as other variants of 2.0 TFSI – V6, with possible future upgrades.
