hybrid Version of the Xiali S7 Released in Shanghai Auto Show
Earlier this week, we learned that the Dongfeng Xiali S7 Plug-in Hybrid (PHV) version will be officially unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show. The pre-sale has already started, offering two variants with prices starting from 12.99 million RMB to 13.49 million RMB.
The PHV will have a 1.5L engine as its plug-in module paired with an electric motor that propels the vehicle to achieve a CLTC pure-electric range of 235km and combined range of up to 1250km.
By comparison, new car retains the same exterior design while slightly changing front grill design to boost airflow. Additional changes include the incorporation of a larger fuel tank on the right rear side panel. The tail end adopts the same hidden exhaust system, ensuring visual consistency with its electric model counterpart.
In terms of specifications, new car features dimensions 4,935mm in length, 1,915mm in width, and 1,495mm in height. Its wheelbase is fixed at 2,915mm for better maneuverability in urban spaces.
Upon entering the vehicle, it boasts a layout similar to its purely electric version. Features include dual-spoke multipurpose steering wheels with LCD displays of up to 8.8 inches, an extended multimedia touchscreen display of up to 15.6 inches along side the embedded Xiali OS software, and functions supporting interconnected smartphone operation as well as voice recognition.
Driven by combining a 1.5 liter fuel engine and electric propulsion system powered by an upgraded battery pack that holds 28.4KWh of energy during standard operations, the car has a CLTC pure-electric range of up to 235km and combined usage reaching up to 1250km.
