BYD's New Plug-in SUV, Meta Plus Smart Cruiser, Teased
BYD officially unveiled the Meta Plus Smart Cruiser, a compact SUV that introduces new features and upgrades, in a press release on February 21st.
The addition of the new feature, Playdium, is expected to mark the car's mass production. With this announcement, BYD also confirmed its sales figures since its launch three years ago, with over 930,000 units sold and available in 116 countries and regions.
Exterior-wise, the Smart Cruiser boasts a brand-new front bumper design, accompanied by bold and aggressive grille openings that convey power to the vehicle. A family-styled front skid plate is paired below the new bumpers for an appealing visual harmony and depth sense.
Moving on to its side profile, the official statement has upgraded the doorframe molding with improved lines for a smoother silhouette with spacious rear windows. On top of this, BYD offers the car in two distinct wheel sizes (17 inches) versus its rivals (18-inch), to fit consumer preferences. Last but not least, we find significant updates on the end sections including LED tail lamps now held out from the bumper and new "dynamic water-shielding lateral beam lights" for heightened visual performance. Moreover a fresh "Yue Mi", color pattern allows consumers to further personalize the model.
The interior of the Meta Plus will be enriched by an upgraded version of its driver assistance package, set to integrate various advanced features as anticipated: 29 in total, including cameras with high-speed tracking capabilities, radar sensors using super-sonar technology and many more.
In terms of performance and features, it is assumed that both the transmission gear ratio and fuel consumption details would provide further clarity.
