Nissan Sets New Record for Electric Powertrain Vehicles Globally

As of October 31, 2024, Nissan Motor Company has announced that its electric powertrain vehicles have exceeded 150,000 units in global production. These vehicles have been sold to 68 countries and regions worldwide.

E-POWER is a unique technology developed by Nissan, which combines a low-displacement gasoline engine with lithium-ion batteries to provide electric motor power, driving the wheels through an electric motor. Its benefits lie in its powerful acceleration and quiet operation, providing a pure-electric driving experience typical of electric vehicles.

Since introducing the Note e-POWER model in Japan in 2016, this innovative technology has been widely adopted across various Nissan models, including the GT-R, Serena MPV, and others. In the Japanese market alone, e-POWER vehicles accounted for 42.6% of total sales in the 2023 fiscal year.

In China, the first ever Nissans to utilize E-power are the 2021 Altima with the e-Power tech, while Caddys EV were the next ones released by Nissan. Meanwhile in Europe, Nissan launched the all-electric versions of the Qashqai (Rogue) on June 15, 2022, marking their debut there
