Volkswagen Group (China) and Nedbank Form Strategic Partnership
A joint statement released on February 21 revealed Volkswagen Group (China) has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Nanjing Jingnian Energy. Leveraging each other's strengths, the two parties will focus on technological innovation and product upgrading to accelerate their work in development of new energy vehicles' lithium-ion batteries, materials applications, and component manufacturing.
This partnership marks a significant milestone for Volkswagen Group (China) in its electric vehicle strategy, while also representing Nanjing Jingnian Energy's first comprehensive integration into the entire product life cycle. Wang Jianfeng, Deputy General Manager and President of Purchasing Department at the company said: "Deepening cooperation with Nanjing Jingnian Energy will help us develop performance-leading battery solutions for our clients, enhance supply chain transparency and reliability, better meet market demands.
Looking forward, the two sides plan to further explore the field of dynamic batteries, exploring new technologies in areas such as lithium-ion battery recycling, swappable swapping, V2G, carbon reduction, and material supply transparency.
