Audi Unveils Audi Q6 e-tron Off-Road Concept with a Twist

Audi, the German luxury car manufacturer, has released the official images of its latest electric off-road concept, Audi Q6 e-tron. The company aims to showcase its electric powertrain technology in an unconventional setting, while also highlighting its capabilities in rugged terrain.

Key Features

The Audi Q6 e-tron is based on the existing Audi Q series, but with a few key design tweaks that enhance its off-road prowess. An increased wading depth courtesy of the lower-profile door sill bridging system sets it apart from more conventional vehicles. The robust tires are a clear nod to ruggedness and stability.

Design Variations

The concept has several upgrades designed to boost performance and durability in extreme environments such as heavy-duty wheels, raised track width for better stability, wider arches to accommodate stronger undercarriage, higher roofline to make better use of available space within the bodywork. This provides room for essential off-road gear like an additional roof-top rack along with the integrated side rails of the roof rails for attaching larger storage packs and a unique interior lighting setup.

Performance

To put its capabilities on display, Audi has equipped the Q6 e-tron concept car with two electric motors, delivering an incredible 517 horsepower total output. In addition to better performance metrics as such increased range (over traditional Q series), power-to-weight improvements in proportion and a more powerful 4x4 system are amongst those highlights.

These updates bring further off-road credibility, but still have had to make sacrifices elsewhere like reduced maximum speed due to extreme tire wear and additional complexity of the transmission system due to two separate motors combined for this specific application.
