Guangqi Aeocean Partners with Xiaoping for Large-Scale Production of Robotaxi
In a strategic cooperation agreement, Guangqi Aeocean and Xiaopping announced their plans to collaborate on large-scale production of robotaxis, marking a significant step towards commercializing autonomous vehicle services in China.
The partnership aims to drive the development of robotaxis on a massive scale, with the first batchexpected to hit production lines by 2025 and rollout in the Guangdong province before expanding to other regions and countries globally. The companies will jointly develop a platform for mass-producerobotaxi vehicles utilizing the Guangqi Aeocean car model and Xiaoping's seventh-generation autonomous driving software.
As part of this agreement, Guangqi Aeocean and Xiaopping have launched an offensive in key areas such as intelligent cruise system (CCS) level packaging development, production, and safety testing framework design. The joint effort plans to launch thousands of units of the company's robotaxis vehicles, achieving a profit transition for single-vehicle operations.
Aeocean’s Future Focus Aeocean aims to expand its presence in the higher levels of driving autonomy (L2-L4) by 2025, enhancing its existing range of models including the Aeocean V 'King Dragon' and Aeocean RT 'Swift Dragon' series. Moreover, the recent partnership with Xiaopping brings another layer of depth to the company’s smart mobility domain strategy.
By entering the L4 level of autonomous driving, China's automotive innovation landscape is further enriched in preparation for large-scale deployment and expansion of its cutting-edge capabilities under their strategic endeavor.
