Toyota Corolla Redesign Hinted at for 2026 Release
A new generation of the Toyota Corolla has been teased, with hints suggesting a full overhaul of its exterior and interior designs, as well as an upgrade to its powertrain. The revamped car is expected to debut in 2026, featuring a plug-in hybrid system for the first time.
The designs depicted in the leaked images showcase two distinct styles created by oversea designers, heavily influenced by the Toyota Crown.
A red variant of the Corolla displays striking visuals, including a darkened lower bumper and distinctive grille with integrated stripes, in addition to aerodynamic-inspired fog lamp area. On the other hand, its bright yellow counterpart boasts more pronounced features like large alloy wheels, dual-tone body design, and substantial vertical lines providing an air of luxury.
In terms of rear end differences, the red car model stands out for having a slightly arched taillift design, distinctive headlight design, as well as streamlined bumper arrangement. The orange variant's layout takes a more refined design with less prominent horizontal lines enhancing a smooth visual flow to create better balance with business-oriented atmosphere.
Production of the new Corolla is reportedly planned on TNGA-C architecture and will boast an all-new 1.5-liter engine with potential variations including natural inhalation and mechanically forced inhalation configurations.
