Xiaomi's SU7 Ultra Turbo Set a New Record at the North American Auto Show
Last week, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra prototype set a new record as the world's fastest four-door car with a speed of 6:46.74 seconds and made its official debut on October 29th.
At this year's Guangzhou Motor Show, the SU7 Ultra once again drew attention from visitors with its stunning yellow and black exterior design, which has become a unique identity for Xiaomi's upcoming sports car brand.
Exterior Design and Features
On first glance, the new model bears an uncanny resemblance to the existing Xiaomi SU7. However, it is clear that this is not just another iteration of the same model – rather, it embodies Xiaomi's commitment to racing performance with a more distinct and sporty design language.
The Chinese manufacturer has opted for a high-intensity yellow paint job paired with deep black accents on the side skirts, creating an instantly recognizable and aerodynamically efficient visual identity. The aggressive front bumper design, particularly noticeable around the side sills, exudes a strong racing spirit.
Aerodynamics Design
To improve aerodynamic performance, Xiaomi has extensively utilized air-flow analysis during the design process. Special attention was given to details such as the carbon fiber-reinforced hood and distinctive side skirts where additional aerodynamic features have been incorporated. Air flow around complex parts receives enhanced surface finishes while maintaining an elegant aesthetic. An air-flow channel running over the rear wheels, effectively enhances aerodynamics.
Interior Design
Complementing its striking exterior design is a well-appointed interior space, with the presence of sport-tuned seats, ample storage compartments, and prominent display screens showcasing crucial data to give drivers a tactical edge. Customized steering wheel grip has also been introduced for better grip during high driving experiences.
Interior design complements sports-focused features in the car's aesthetic while maintaining an understated premium appeal.
Technical Specification
At 5115 (MM) by 1970 (millimeters), with a depth of 1465mm, the vehicle measures an impressive length and width. Its ground clearance can be noted at 135 mm from floor to fender.
The SU7 Ultra features alloyed forged wheel rims for higher grip, allowing better handling around corners while reducing rolling resistance.
To optimize traction on slippery surfaces, front end is fitted with carbon-ceramic disc brake system (CCDBS). This includes Brembo carbon titanium disc brake components coupled with high-performance Brembo brake calipers - ideal for racing purposes.
Innovative features in such a vehicle typically include semi-active suspension as well as optimized gear shifting, providing the driver with optimal handling conditions in all driving environments.
Lastly, advanced dynamic lighting setups and rear wing system design provide performance-enhanced features that help stabilize speed while cornering and maintain stability during high-speed turns.
