New Changan eV 300 Big D iX Hybrid Launched with Upgraded Design and Powertrain
Changan has released official images of its new E-V 300 Big D iX hybrid, showcasing a refreshed exterior design and updated powertrain. Compared to the existing 2023 model, the mid-life facelift brings significant changes to the exterior and engine system.
Positioning itself as a compact SUV, the Changan E-V 300 Big D iX Defiance is available in an electric power variant, powered by plug-in hybrid technology, with a starting price of around ¥119,000 - ¥149,900 (around $17,000 - USD).
Upon closer inspection, new front-end styling has been introduced, featuring sealed front grille and side-body LED lights, yielding a trendy dynamism to its appearance. Moreover, the car is equipped with novel alloy wheels in grey and blue/white dual-toned design scheme, retaining manual door handles seen on earlier conventional models.
The rear end hasn't undergone significant overhaul except for existing renderings of reworked tail section which can be confirmed using latest official images, keeping intact integral LED fog lamps, integrated side-sill vents, under-car windscreen deflectors. It remains to be observed, however, whether it carries a more pronounced visual depth compared these.
Car's dimensions include 4620 by 1917 and 1629 for front-to-rear and high-to-low dimension respectively, having 2700mm wheelbase length. The latest generation Changan EV retains the same 1.5T smart power engine combined with hybrid system that utilizes technology manufactured out of Chinese company, Zhongshi Technology CoLtd named as DFMC15TE1.
Purely electric drive system comprises a battery pack measuring at around 21.1kW and delivers a range of around 110 km on a single charge. Changan promises more news regarding the upcoming model.
