Audi Announces New PHEV Model Based on GM's E1 Platform in November
Audi is set to unveil its new PHEV model, dubbed "Purple427", on November 7th at 8pm local time. According to reports and previous announcements, the car will be based on the General Motors E1 platform and utilize Audi's three-electric system.
The vehicle will be classified as a B-segment electric saloon and is expected to launch in major markets by February 2025. As part of its strategic partnership with SAIC Motor Group, Audi has signed an agreement to co-develop a new digital platform known as ADP (Advanced Digitized Platform), exclusively for the Chinese market.
Details about the car are scarce at this point, with numerous speculations circulating online. One theory suggests the car may omit traditional emissions labels and will utilize a bespoke powertrain based on a 800V high-pressure system developed in collaboration.
Audi's CEO of cooperation project, Song Fei Ming, recently shed more light on the new model. Notably, it is to be equipped with Momenta's smart driving technology, allowing it to conform to the prevailing standards in the emerging market of smart driving.
