China's Geely Posts Record 10-Month Sales, Drives Electric Car Surge
Geely has announced a surge in sales during the first 10 months of the year, with new vehicle deliveries reaching 180,770 units and a growth rate of 119% compared to last year. The best-selling model was the Geely Boy, which saw its sales reach 11,377 units for the month of October alone.
The success of the Boy has sent a positive signal for Geely's transformation into an electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, with future plans set to focus on EV variants. According to reports, the company will no longer produce new gasoline-powered models and instead focus on developing more energy-efficient vehicles.
One of the key models behind this transformation is the Boy. First introduced by Geely's salt lakeside factory in China specifically to be an all-electric model, it has proven successful as a first step towards electric car production.
Understandably, those interested in electric drives are eagerly looking forward to the introduction of new EVs from Geely such as E311 and also Boy Electric which will make its debut at this year's Guangzhou car show.
