Tesla Cybertruck Hits Record Mileage: Reaching 618 Miles on a Single Charge with Triple Motor Power

Tesla Cybertruck Energy Consumption Listed in Chinese Government Database

A recent filing with China's State Administration of Work Safety (SAWS) has revealed the energy consumption data for Tesla's upcoming Cybertruck vehicle. The data suggests that the Cybertruck's energy consumption is significantly higher than its competitors, primarily due to its substantial weight and advanced powertrain.

According to the SAWS database, the Cybertruck's energy consumption stands at 22.6 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per 100 kilometers of driving, which translates to approximately equivalent to a gasoline-powered vehicle consuming 2.62 liters per 100 kilometers of driving. The electricity cost is estimated to be around 14.92 yuan per 100 kilometers.

For comparison, the same data shows that a traditional gasoline-powered vehicle consumes almost half as much energy by weight as compared to Cybertruck, considering its mass of approximately one and a half tons, which is higher than normal vehicles.

It was also reported on the database that the Cybertruck's energy consumption has been predicted, taking into account various factors. For instance, if the car is driven in hot temperatures with the air conditioning turned on, its range will be approximately reduced by 15%, while driving in cold weather will see a drop of around 40% in driving range.

Earlier reports also indicated that Tesla might set foot in China soon by introducing Cybertruck to local market and actively pursuing safety registration. The latest data further supports this claim as the company makes necessary steps during an official review with SAWS.

Vehicle Specifications

The dimensions for Cybertruck, according to its specifications, are 5683mm long x 2201mm wide x 1791mm tall.

Its various electric motor versions offer diverse powertrain options with driving performances and range data such as:

  • A single motor version that can accelerate from 0-96 kph in about 6.5 seconds. It has an endurance of approximately 402 kilometers.
  • The dual motor upgrade comes to feature a peak output of up to 600 horsepower, achieving 0–96kph time 4.1seconds while sustaining the drive about 547 kilometers. Moreover, it could extend its endurance beyond 756 kilometers with enhanced settings.

Conclusion

While the data reveals that the Cybertruck consumes significantly more energy than normal vehicles due to advanced technicals, the electric cost still holds up at lower value, potentially making them more economical based on electricity only.
