Lumin Embao: Longan's Latest Electric Car to Hit the Market

A new version of Longan's electric car, Lumin Embao, was officially launched on March 28. Characterized as an official customized version, this car is essentially a factory-outfitted model with distinct features.

The base price for the Lumin Embao stands at 5.98 million CNY, while the government-subsidized variant costs only 3.89 million CNY. However, due to limited production runs of 999 units, the latter comes with an attractive exclusive offer.

Furthermore, customers can enjoy a discounted subscription charge during March 28th to April 6th, allowing for a 520 yuan down payment with a final sale price of 1914 yuan more affordable; those who commit to purchasing the Embao version will also gain access to this limited-time deal worth 999 yuan off.

Upon closer inspection, Lumin Embao's exterior features bear striking resemblance to the iconic panda bear. Its predominantly black and white color scheme gives it a modern appearance, complete with increased lighting fixtures resembling panda eyes in the front grille. Decorative elements including Panda ears placed on top add an endearing touch.

Measures of the car remain largely unchanged from other Longan Lumin versions: a length of 3270mm, width 1700mm and height 1545mm are consistent across different models, with a 1980 mm wheelbase remaining stable in all aspects.

Visitors stepping inside the Lumin Embao will notice numerous panda-inspired elements as well, which also feature its signature black-white color scheme. Noteworthy additions include customized head rests bearing the panda's iconic design and special floor stickers placed strategically on the car. The interior offers further improvements under its seat – such upgraded cushion with custom side rails that can store personal belongings effectively.

Underpinning the Lumin Embao's engine, a 48-pound driving motor is combined for maximum power, providing an estimated electric driving distance of about 301 kilometers and supporting fast charging technology at full speed as well.

Following recent changes in government policies promoting old vehicle exchange and purchasing incentives nationwide, the car market has experienced a new surge. In the past year alone, over 76,700 Lumin electric vehicles were shipped out, ranking third among all small-scale electric vehicles (the first position was taken by Hengli MINIEV and second place won by Geely Panda).

Lumin Embao certainly makes an admirable introduction to market this time around. Whether it can propel the brand's overall market share even higher remains to be seen.
