Tesla Set to Launch Updated Model S Later This Year
A reliable source within the company has confirmed that Tesla's long-awaited updates are on their way, as the next-generation Model S is expected to land later this year. The new design rendering reveals a sleek and sophisticated upgrade, drawing inspiration from its cousin, the Model Y.
While the renderings should be taken with a grain of salt, one thing is clear: Elon Musk and his team have big plans for Tesla’s lineup, but even they couldn't give away too much just yet.
A glance at the conceptual design reveals some standout features. The vehicle boasts an entirely new daytime running light scheme, consisting of two separate headlight units with a striking wing-like profile that contrasts dramatically with the lower section of the design. These new lights are designed to serve a single purpose: improving visibility while keeping Tesla's sleek aesthetic intact.
On the side profiles, we find the familiar trappings of a classic sedan, albeit with more muscular and aggressive lines due to larger wheels. The rear appears no less magnificent with new projection-style taillights that set them apart from their Model Y counterparts, accompanied by an unusually shaped rump spoiler in the form of an inverted bird's tail. All combined, this new design exudes energy and excitement.
Under the hood, the dual-motor version promises to deliver around 442 horsepower (kW) with an electric range of over 715 kilometers (km). The tri-motor Plaid variant tops that claim at a full 590 kW, with expected electric range reaching an impressive 672 km.
