BMW Launches New M5 Touring Edition at Dingolfing Factory in Germany
The newly launched BMW M5 Touring has started production at the company's German Dingolfing factory. The car is equipped with a 4.4L V8 turbocharged engine paired with an electric motor, forming a plug-in hybrid system.
One notable feature of the new M5 Touring is its electrified powertrain, which offers a pure electric range of 40 kilometers. Interestingly, the BMW M5 Touring recently entered the Chinese market, priced at RMB 1,469,900 (approximately USD 213,000).
The BMW M5 Touring becomes the seventh plug-in hybrid model produced at the Dingolfing factory, following previous models such as the BMW M4, M8, and others. The company aims to further expand its production lineup for plug-in hybrids at Dingolfing, accounting for around 6% of total output.
The new BMW M5 Touring is powered by a 4.4L V8 turbocharged engine paired with an electric motor, producing a combined power of 535 horsepower (approximately 727.6 PS) and an impressive torque over 1,000 Nm. The car's battery pack is equipped with 18.6 kWh capacity, enabling pure electric range of up to 40 kilometers.
In terms of driving dynamics, the BMW M5 Touring features a 8-speed automatic manual transmission paired with an M xDrive four-wheel drive system, complementing its impressive electrified powertrain.
