Bolt Up, Prices Down: Upcoming VW ID.3's New BATTERY Lease & Potential Price Cut

Volkswagen's New ID.3 Model Hits the Market

Volkswagen has officially released its new ID.3 model, which boasts various upgrades in terms of design, features, and technology. The latest upgrade is particularly notable in the battery department, as it transitions from a three-cell lithium-ion battery to a more powerful 53.6kWh phosphorus-based lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery.

Visually, the new ID.3 has made several significant changes. Gone are the former A-pillar and roof edge lines, which have been replaced with a sleeker black trim and two-tone alloy wheels that measure either 17 or 18 inches in diameter. The previous car also came with larger 20-inch "ShadowFlywheel" wheels, but they can now be substituted for these all-new ones.

Additionally, the ID.3 has gained several new colors to its palette. These include two unique paint options: a soft grey tone and a gentle sky blue hue that set it apart from previous models.

The interior is also on par with the exterior, thanks to increased white areas throughout, which helps create a sleeker look overall. New features were added inside, such as a newly integrated phone wireless charger in the console area. The side panel central storage was updated and improved with a refined new hand-hold device. Gone are their individual side arms for seat support but it adds support with its integrated system instead.

The interior's back seats feature an elevated profile and increased airflow through newly integrated air vents to provide passengers a more comfortable experience.

As for its powertrain, the newest car has swapped out the old battery in favor of improved phosphorus-based lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries which results in only slight capacity gains over the previous configuration. Both configurations still maintain 125 kW of total power, but these improvements also promise potential reductions when it sells to consumers after release.
