Mercedes-Benz Recalls Thousands of Cars for Safety Reasons
[Country], [Date] - In a joint effort, Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Ltd., Beijing Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. has filed recall notices with the National Market Supervision Administration, covering various vehicles that are being pulled back to address potential safety issues.
As part of the recalls, the following numbers of cars will be affected:
Recall 1: Imported C-Class Cars
Production Dates: May 19th, 2021 – March 20th, 2023 Total Cars Affectected: 4,738
The reason for this recall is due to faulty software within the car's engine control unit that causes incorrect burning of fuel. In cases where the vehicle exits slow motion mode, the engine control software may incorrectly identify a fire, which can result in fuel shot interruption and cause vehicles to lose power thereby raising collision risk.
To resolve this issue Mercedes-Benz will be upgrading all recalled cars with free upgraded software from its authorized dealerships, ensuring safety by eliminating any potential risks involved.
