Geely's Geely Mountain Sea T1 Enters Market with Three Trim Levels and Affordable Pricing Starting at $18,750
Beijing, October 27 -- The Geely Mountain Sea T1 entered the Chinese market today with a range of three trim levels priced between $15,483 and $17,483. This latest offering from the Geely brand is positioned as a compact plug-in hybrid SUV (SUV), boasting a capable and rugged design.
The vehicle's exterior boasts an overall near-aerodynamic body style, a front grille connected to the center net mesh for optimal air flow, large headlight fixtures with unique flower-like detailing for improved visibility in both bright light and low ambient situations. Black finish on the front bumper presents a bold contrast against a sharp urban appearance line.
From a visual standpoint the vehicle is near indistinguishable from its counterpart, the Mountain Sea T2 - sharing nearly identical lines across major elements such as overall proportions, frontal dimensions of headlight, wheel diameter (without fender flares), side skirts and a rear glass panel. Overall shape, proportions give it the essence of a sharp compact crossover.
The Geely Mountain Sea comes in a couple different trim levels: “向山”(Mountain), which starts at $15,483; “向湖”(Lake) priced at $16,683; and “向海”(Sea), featuring a top-of-the-line model reaching up to $17,483. Each model features advanced interior technology including an integrated GPS system with route optimization, automatic weather condition detection, air purification function and remote access capabilities, bringing users closer to modern travel.
The Geely Mountain Sea T1 boasts a long wheelbase of 2806mm that accommodates the vehicle's unique roof-mounted car top gear storage compartment. A compact interior provides ample back seat accommodation for passengers and luggage in addition to an adequate cargo space behind the rear seats with some help from an under-floor compartment designed to store larger items securely.
An exterior parking spot monitor system can also guide drivers into available spaces if they aren't fully aware of what's around them. Furthermore, vehicle speeds will be monitored automatically so that passengers may safely exit their vehicles without needing much assistance for navigation.
The Geely Mountain Sea comes equipped with a range of onboard driving assistance systems including an air conditioning system with heating function as well as front seat power recline and lumbar support. Also included are some key travel accessories allowing users to prepare in advance for trips of varying lengths, sizes, and capacities. A high resolution 15.6-inch navigation screen sits at the center control station.
The vehicle will be available in a four-wheel drive version, which promises better stability under adverse conditions.
Competitor Analysis
Harvey Maverick
Competition for sales, pricing starts at $16;000 has the advantage of being priced lower as well while also possessing more ground clearance but an underwhelming pure electric range of 102km. The full electric vehicle range extends to either 145km or even to NEDC testing. A 7209 unit delivery in September showcases potential sales, with all variants available only in four-wheel drive configuration.
In comparison, Geely's Mountain Sea appears better suited for the target market but with an affordable starting point.
