BYD Announces Strong Q1 Results, Overseas Sales Surge
In a recent announcement to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, BYD Company Limited reported strong financial results for its first quarter of 2025, with significant growth in revenue and net profit.
Revenue rose by 36.35% year-over-year to reach 1703.6 billion yuan, driven by a surge in new energy vehicle sales. The company's attributable net profit jumped an impressive 100.38% to 91.55 billion yuan.
The data also revealed a substantial increase in vehicle production and sales. As of Q1 2025, BYD has produced 105.71 thousand new energy vehicles, a year-over-year growth of 72.64%. Sales figures reached 100.08 thousand units, up by 59.81% from the same period last year.
The company's passenger vehicle production surged to 104.19 thousand units, with sales reaching 98.61 thousand units. These figures represent significant increases, driven by strong demand for BYD's vehicles.
Meanwhile, BYD's overseas market is also bucking the trend, with Q1 sales exceeding 20 thousand units, a year-over-year growth of 110%. The company is actively expanding its presence in foreign markets, with its Tengshi brand now available in Indonesia and Malaysia. Plans to launch products in Europe are on track for April.
To support its overseas expansion and product supply, BYD recently set sail on its third automobile shipping vessel, "BYD HEFEI", which successfully departed on January 1st.
The quarterly financial report also showed that BYD's operating expenses rose by 35% year-over-year to reach 1628.5 billion yuan. Research and development expenditures increased by 34% to 142.2 billion yuan.
